Wood pub tables and more

When one says pub table, almost immediately you are thinking of pub/bar furniture. But a pub table can go in your house, adding style and function to your interior.

A pub table consists of a smooth flat top supported either by a long sturdy column (sometimes ended in four small legs, for better stability), by four tubular long legs or by a sleek tubular base. Classically the table top’s form was round, but today you can find also square ones.

The tables were initially designed for pubs and bars (places where alcoholic beverages are sold and drunk), they had a smaller top surface (to allow a larger number of tables in a room) and they were taller then the normal table to suit the size of the pub and bar chairs. Later (although the taller size was kept) they started being produced to replace the classical tables due to the fact that they required less space than the classical ones (you don't eat on them and to drink something you don't need too much space). Primarily they were made only of wood. But today there aren't only wood pub tables they can be, made of rubberwood, oak, walnut, pine, is mahogany etc. There also a variety of other materials used for their manufacture: steel, iron, laminated plastic, fiber glass, etc. The manufacturers use rust, veneer, antique black, powdercoat, pewter with bronze accents, metal, cherry, oak, mahogany or Faux Leather finishes.

A Kathy Ireland pub table will adorn your room, having an instant eye appealing look.

About the pub chair

Pub chairs should be bought along with the pub table they are meant for to ensure they fit perfectly in design and style. A general rule says that there should be a distance of  9" to 13" between the seat height and the height of the pub table where the chair is going to be placed. The height from the floor to the top of the seat should be 18, 20, 24, 26, 30 or 36 inch.

Pub chairs may be the shape of a normal living room chair, but with a smaller size back and arm, or armless. The chairs are made of beechwood, solid oak, or mahogany, cherry or metal and they have a  wooden, straw, cane, cotton, polyester or solid microfiber, upholstered solid seat.

Most of the time though you find the pub chair in the shape of a pub stool (a backless and armless chair). The stools can be in metal, beech-wood, with straight or curved legs (made of wood or metal), with leather, vinyl, leather or pine veneers seat. Sometimes the legs can be tubular or the stool top can be supported by a sturdy column made of hard wood or metal. Some of the metal pub stools can be swiveled.

A pub table can perfectly suit your living or dining room. All you have to do is decide which type fulfills your needs best.
